CYSL meeting notes 1-25-10  (DRAFT)

Guest Mike Shumsker, our new contact at the Revolution, was in attendance.  The Revs are in their 15th season in MLS and want to continue to build relationships with youth soccer programs.  Youth Soccer partnerships provide a season-long engagement between the Revs and our town programs.  Partnerships offer tickets, pre-game parties, coaching clinics, player appearances, tickets to practices, etc.  Contact Mike for details and to formalize a partnership for your town. Guest Matt Lopez, our contact with the Boston Breakers, was in attendance.  The Breakers play from April – Sept, including 12 home games at Harvard Stadium.  Matt emphasized the world-class quality of the players here in Boston, the great value of $10-$15 prices for group outings (some tickets can be as low as $5), the importance of providing female sports role models, and the fun opportunities for tailgating and post-game autograph alley.  Youth partnerships are available with the Breakers, with many of the same types of benefits offered by the Revs. mlopez@bostonbreakers.com.

 

A state level meeting on IT packages for player registration is scheduled for March 6 in Westborough.  Dave will get website info from proposing companies so towns can look over the options.  Dave likes Sportspilot best as this moment.  Towns will not have to change to the state’s selected program, but will be strongly encouraged to do so.  One person from each association must attend the meeting or lose the ability to vote on which company is selected.

 

Carver and Duxbury, please submit your contact info for the book.

 

Towns who have not submitted placement info must do so immediately or accept team placement as is.

 

Spring fees will be forwarded soon.  The U10 fee is $60 per team and U12 on up is $80 per team.

 

Number of HS teams must be submitted by the next meeting on Feb 8.  Please submit rosters at that time if at all possible.

 

Preliminary matrices were submitted by Greg Chandler.  Towns need to email Greg with comments or additional info that should be considered in team placement.
