Coastal Youth Soccer League Meeting 7/29/09
Deadlines
- Aug 1 declare preliminary team #’s, desired
divisions (I or II), desired start date for games and any
coach/coordinator info, to be sent to Dick Warren, Dave Coutts will send
out his email address tonight richard-warren@comcast.net
- Aug 15
final numbers due, league understands coach info will be sketchy at this
point
- After
Aug 15, need permission to add team and pay a fine
Registration info
- Before
first game of season, be sure to submit final registration lists to MYSA
- Make
sure Kevin Cantwell receives database of all travel players, He will not
validate fall rosters.
- Rosters for the Fall Coastal League need to be signed by the local registrar
Age group info-Fall
- If
moving kids up an age group (to fill in teams that are short players) –
some towns select players by birthday, ie the
U10 players with the earliest birthdates would be offered the U12
positions first – rather than selecting by skill
- Any 8th
grader can play U14 in the fall, regardless of age, but if officially a
U16 player in spring, must play U16 (rationale – no place else for them to
play soccer since not in high school)
- 6th
graders who are U14 must play U14, cannot play down to U12
Fall games
- Zero
tolerance policy in effect, players, coaches parents may not address ref
during game,
- with a
few minor exceptions, see league handbook
- At
Referee’s discretion, any coach player, parent can be removed from game
without a prior warning
- Game
may be stopped and not resumed until individual leaves the premises
- Coaches
are responsible for both side lines – that of their players, and that of
the parents, parents out of line should be spoken to by coach
- A
referee pre-game checklist is being put together
- Coaches
need two rosters per game
Miscellaneous
- If any
town is short players for a team, towns may be combined, discuss with CC
